Today was our first work day to prepare for our ladies retreat this fall. We brought our fabric, sewing machines, fabric scissors, needles, & buttons all to make coffee cup cozies! It will be our unexpected bed treats for all the ladies who attend. With 16 ladies, it took us four hours to make 200 cozies. We lined up some tables for an assembly line to make the work go faster. I choose the fabrics, Julie starched and ironed, Amy, Tyha, Rhonda and Kayla added batting between fabric layers then used a template to cut the cozy shape out. On to the next table was Elaine and Shelly who were sewing the battting and fabrics together. At the next table, Jennie, Jenny and Ruth surged the edges. The final table was the button table. Shirley, Kalene, Lynn and Jennifer added the buttons and hair ties. With work day #1 a success, we are already planning work day #2! Next month and we will be making cards for our encouragement board. Stay tuned for pictures!
