Tonight Connor graduated from Mrs. Rae's Oak Leaf Kindergarten class. I still can not believe the year is over and our son is going to be in first grade this fall. At Springwater School, they name all the classes. The kindergartners are always called Oak Leaves. The Oak Leaves sang us a song about how they could spell hat, cat, mat, hop, pop and mop but they could not spell macroinvertebrates. As they sang the song they ended up spelling macroinvertebrates, it was cute! After they sang us their song, us parents came up and gave a one minute praise speech to our children. We praised Connor on how he is a good listener, how he made more than 21 new friends this year, he learned to read, he became confident in riding the bus and how he had perfect attendance. We are so proud of Connor and all that he learned this year. We can't wait to see him grow even more next year. After the praise speeches we all ate yummy potluck food then gave Mrs. Rae a necklace, a tree so we can watch it grow over the next eight years and a rock. Mrs. Rae is such a special teacher and she has given each of her students the confidence to "fly off as a Dragonfly" as they enter first grade this fall. Yep, the first graders are called Dragonflies!

Mr. Jon (the first grade teacher) has Tie Tuesday in his class.
We gave Connor one of Allen's ties. It was a flag tie,
also called the Captain America tie!
