Finding the Perfect Christmas Tree

We checked out a new U-Cut Tree Farm today and found our Christmas Tree.  We decided to get a real tree this year and give the fake one the year off.  We bundled up, grabbed our hot cider and candy canes and took a drive to Bob'z tree farm.  Upon entering the farm we passed by this big blow-up snowman.  Of course, we had to take a picture.  Just as I was snapping the picture, a gust of wind came through and the snowman's arm whopped Logan in the back of the head!  It was so funny to watch Logan look up at the snowman and then slowly walk away!  As we were walking off, Connor says, "that's not a real snowman, it's just a blow-up snowman!"  I guess you can't fool a four year old!  Wow, my boy is growing up too fast.  After the picture we were off to find the perfect tree.  The boys loved running through the trees and telling us "yes" or "no" to the trees they liked.  Logan liked the small ones and Connor liked the big ones.  We finally get to the spot where we think our tree will be found and we hear, "I HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM!"  WHAT?  REALLY?  NOW?  We are in the middle of a tree farm and Connor has to go to the bathroom.  Ugg...and it's not just #1, it's #2!!!  So Logan and I stay behind as Connor and Allen go running back to the gift shop...on the other side of the farm!  It seemed to take forever for them to get back to the perfect spot, as Logan and I were trying to keep warm in the trees.  It was actually a sunny day but there were cold wind gusts whipping through the trees.  Thankfully, the farm had a huge fire pit with a nice hot fire to warm up your hands and free hot coco, apple cider and candy canes in the gift shop.  The other cool thing about this farm was their tree shaker.  They would put the base of the tree on the shaker and it would shake off all the dead needles.  It was awesome and the boys were intrigued by it (and so was I!).  So with the tree purchased and some mistletoe!!! :)  we headed for home.  Then discuss that we need a tree stand because we never needed one with our fake tree.  We end up at Home Depot and we are in luck, they are out!  But the Home Depot 10 miles away has 67!  Weird.  So back in the truck and on the road we go.  Then we hear it...Logan yelling at the top of his lungs,  "SNACK", "SNACK", "SNACK" the entire way.  Logan decides he needs a snack but he ate all his snacks that we brought.  So we decide to stop at Lowe's because it's closer.  Thankfully they had several to choose from.  We quickly pick one and head for home.  Phew, we made it home exhausted so we will have to decorate the tree another day!  All in all, we enjoyed our adventure even if it did take us an hour longer than planned!
