Rain, rain, rain...that's what it does here in Oregon during winter. Occasionally, some pretty white stuff will fall from the sky for a few hours then quickly turn to rain and melt. It has been raining for days here. We have had so much rain that we are having some flooding issues in the area. Today at Connor's school a portion of the playground was flooded. Us volunteer parents tried to keep the kids out of the water during outdoor explore time, but kids are just naturally drawn to large, deep puddles of water! Kids don't seem to mind wading in water that is deeper than the top of their rubber rain boots. In fact, they seem to think it is fun to have the water fill up their boots while wearing them! They just don't realize that they will be wet for the rest of the day! More than half of the little kindergartners were wet from the waist down, including Connor! Thankfully all the kids had a change of clothes in their lockers. It took valuable classroom and lunch time to help them all get their sticky wet clothes off and the dry ones on! We are hoping that the playground puddle will quickly disappear so the kids won't be tempted to get wet tomorrow!
Connor went to school with two white socks
and came home with a white one and a tan one!
